Art Wall
A project of the ©vandovo Theatre that brings fine artists to the theatre house. Art Wall is a special wall of size 3,5 x 5 meters of a special surface. In every half a year a new painting will appear on the wall that is situated in the centre of the foyer, quite near to the entrance of the large hall and the cloak rooms. The idea of the wall is that the painting is displayed in the public place for about five months but the visitors have a chance to see the whole process of birth a new painting. After its time has finished, another artist will come and cover the previous painting by his new one. All the art works are preserved only in photography but the original itself is destroyed forever. The first artist who opened this unique project was TOMÁ© CÍSAŘOVSKÝ whose work started in November 2003 and his painting was introduced to the public from December of the same year to June 2004. The next author who repainted the wall was the winner of a prestigious prize of Jindřich Chalupecký MICHAL PĚCHOUČEK. Pěchouček created painting called The Mirror, inspirated by magic of theatre.The third artist who was participating in project is MILAN CAIS, known as well as a member of Tatabojs music group.His painting named Sunday, Bloody Sunday was inspirated directly by performance of ©vandovo Theatre, more precisely by Martin McDonagh´s Lieutenant of Inishmore. Then followed picture called Hana and Hana from known Czech comics.Author of next picture is was famous Czech artist, JIŘÍ DAVID.His Paintings is called Hlad a láska (The Hunger and The Love).
From March 10th you have the chance to see the work of highly accalaimed artist, Ivana Lomova (http://www.lomova.com ) - it´s by the way the first woman in our project.
The painting is called A Murder in the Svandovo Theatre - and again it´s inspired by the atmosphere of the theatre.
New painting should be seen before every events taking place in Main hall.
