Václav Havel´s The Beggar´s Opera could be taken as a great, amazing class of power of word, which can be used not only to communicate, but also to manipulate. Everyone could choose his own generality, his own cliché – assortment seems to be almost endless... On the basis of famous play by John Gay from 1728 created Václav Havel a piece in 14 scenes. It was the first time, when Havel was inspirated by others subject. The premiere was 30 years before in Horni Pocernice, since then it was played in Italy, Hungary, France and other countries, it was also picturized by Jiří Menzel.
